Who was this workshop for?
I like to think of summer as an opportunity for our neurodivergent kids to grow and mature away from the academic stress of the classroom.
But, summertime can bring too much downtime that can lead to conflict with siblings and stress over too much screen time. If these things are already on your mind, this workshop is for you!
In this workshop you will learn:
Ways to foster your child’s motivation and interests this summer away from the stress of school
Visual scheduling hacks including calendars, lists, systems to keep up with all the things!
When and how to schedule separate sibling activities and when to work on collaborative play and teamwork
Helping siblings understand each other’s differences, especially when there are different expectations for one sibling due to a disability
Teaching siblings to repair conflict without the empty “I’m sorry”
Understanding all the different types of screen use, when screens can be used effectively for downtime, and strategies for setting up boundaries around screens

What qualifies me to teach this workshop?
As a child psychologist, former school psychologist, and parent, I’ve spent the last two decades working with neurodivergent children and teens alongside their families and teachers.
Our kids are complex. What works for one child may or may not work for another. Our families are complex. There is so much information out there, but you are ultimately the decision-makers of the next best step in your child’s journey. I want to help you to feel more capable and experience more joy on this parenting journey.
If you’re ready to learn how to reduce the stress in your home, help others understand your kid, and find more joy, you are in the right place.
Let’s do this together,
~Dr. Emily
