Who is this workshop for?
Our kids are constantly learning. The limits we set teach them boundaries, the kindness we show teaches them compassion, and the routines we follow teach them self-care. And, all of that learning happens outside of the classroom!
If you’re parenting a child with ADHD and you want to better understand how impulsivity, distractibility, and executive functioning weaknesses interfere with your child’s learning both inside and outside of school, this workshop is for you.
In this workshop you will learn:
How to tease out your child’s ADHD symptoms from developmentally-appropriate behavior or learning milestones
Why kids with ADHD struggle to listen and strategies to help
How to tell the difference between ADHD and autism, anxiety, and/or learning disabilities when your child is struggling with schoolwork
How to better support your ADHD child during homework time
How to help teachers—who might think your child isn’t trying hard enough—to better understand that your child needs for support

What qualifies me to teach this workshop?
As a child psychologist, former school psychologist, and parent, I’ve spent the last two decades working with neurodivergent children and teens alongside their families and teachers.
Our kids are complex. What works for one child may or may not work for another. Our families are complex. There is so much information out there, but you are ultimately the decision-makers of the next best step in your child’s journey. I want to help you to feel more capable and experience more joy on this parenting journey.
If you’re ready to learn how to reduce the stress in your home, help others understand your kid, and find more joy, you are in the right place.
Let’s do this together,
~Dr. Emily
